WHAT
IS AOBA?
AOBA
(Austin Orchestra Booster Association) is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization. We
are sanctioned and authorized by Fort Bend ISD to support and promote all
functions of the Orchestra Department at Austin High School.
WHO
ARE AOBA MEMBERS?
Membership in
AOBA is open to dues-paid parents or legal guardians of students participating
in the Austin Orchestra programs for the current school year, and other
interested dues-paid persons (excluding currently enrolled high school
students). Annual dues are $20.00 per year, per family with a student in the AHS
orchestras.
WHY SHOULD I
JOIN?
Membership in
AOBA gives parents an active voice in orchestra activities. Under the guidance
and at the request of the orchestra director, AOBA promotes and encourages all
functions of the orchestra. In addition, AOBA provides fundraising opportunities
to raise money for various sanctioned and approved orchestra activities.
WHAT ACTIVITIES
DOES AOBA DO?
Activities are not
limited and include the following:
Fundraisers (sample):
Cookie Sales
Silent Auction
Spirit Items
Concert Ticket
Sales
Entertainment Books
Trip Coordination
and Support
Uniform Tracking
and Maintenance
Year-End Banquet
Social Events and much more
WHEN DOES AOBA MEET?
AOBA meetings are held
typically once per month at mutually agreed upon locations in the evenings
throughout the school year. There will be an advance notification of AOBA parent
meetings and the agenda. Potential members as well as dues paying members are
always invited and encouraged to attend and be involved in AOBA activities.
Minutes from each meeting will be available on the AHS Orchestra web site at
AHSOrch.org.
Please support
your student and become a member of AOBA!
